Before I start, let me show you where I am now as a photographer.

There are a lot more photos in my gallery area of the site. You can find my full portfolio of photography here

Up till now, I will classify myself as more of an enthusiast photographer who still is getting his feet wet. I’m not making groundbreaking photos, and my experimentation is limited due to lack of creativity or other lousy excuses. I really am a bad photographer. So bad, that I’m forced to write about photography in an effort to properly focus. Luckily writing goes hand in hand with photography. They are practically connected at the hip even though both can serve entirely purposes.

This will include photos, lots of photos stringed together with jumbles of words (that will slowly improve I promise)  to express a story or explain a process. I believe you can really only understand a particular subject once you are able to effectively convey an idea to a person, so much that they are able to retain the information and pass the knowledge on.

Photography isn’t all serious business as I’m sure you know. It is engaging in something interactive, yet disconnected, yet entirely personal. The feeling is photography can be abstract, unexplainable, nerve wracking, enjoyable and more across the spectrum of human emotion. More on this later.

I hope you can enjoy reading from me, find meaning in my photography, and resonate with the experiences I’m offering up to complete strangers. I’ll do my best to provide concise and accurate information, along with helpful words that only come from experience. And if I ever fall out of line, I think you know where the comment section is.

Safe Travels,

Joshua
